Current and upcoming projects include:
Chamber music album – I am extremely grateful to the Phenotypic Recordings label for supporting my first solo chamber music album which will feature the excellent Balourdet Quartet, and my dear friends, the percussionist Piero Guimaraies, and violinist EmmaLee Holmes Hicks. This album will include three works for string quartet (Syrian Folk Songs – Book 1, String Quartet No. 1: Shades of Night, & Four Dances From Clorinda Agonistes), as well as my Gnizo for solo violin and percussion. I am currently at the mixing and mastering stage (as of March 2024).
There Will Come Soft Rains for French horn, mixed chorus, and strings. This work is commissioned by Coro Allegro Boston and will premiere in March of 2025. The text is from different sources spanning over 2000 years, and each poem expresses strong anti-war sentiments. Learn more here.
Trumpet Concerto commissioned by the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker for their principal trumpeter, Bassam Mussad. The premiere will take place in early May of 2025. Some details here.
Quintet for Oud & String Quartet I am writing this work for summer 2024 performances that I plan on performing. After a long absence from performing I look forward to this very much. Details coming soon.
