Albums, albums, albums!

July 14, 2026

For some reason or another, wonderful musicians and ensembles are recording my music. I’m extremely grateful for this, but it seems as if it is all happening at once. In addition to the beautiful playing of the Balourdet Quartet on my first chamber music album, Shades of Night here is breakdown of upcoming projects:

  1. The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, with Tõnu Kaljuste conducting, have recorded an album of my music in May of 2026. I was very happy to play oud on one track. The album will include world-premiere recordings of all these works:
    • Hurry To The Light for women’s choir and string orchestra
    • Hushed for mixed chorus and string orchestra
    • Dabke for string orchestra
    • Lenten Prayer for a capella choir
    • I Passed By Bethlehem for mixed chorus, oud, and string orchestra

  2. The Apple Hill String Quartet & I recorded my Oud Quintet that will be released on an album featuring the music of Meredith Monk, Dana Lynne, among others.

3. The Riwaya Ensemble made their beautiful debut recording which included my Palestinian Songs & Dances for clarinet and string quartet.

4. Palaver Strings and I will collaborate on an album that includes my Ḥawwāsh, a virtuoso work for string orchestra, my Syrian Folk Songs for string orchestra, and a brand new work, Lāmak’s Lament for Oud and String Orchestra.

5. A new collaboration with the four-time Grammy award winning, The Crossing Choir and their music director, Donald Nally. More on this soon!

6. Pianist Linda Holzer will be recording an album of solo piano works including the world-premiere recording of my Aleppo Songs for solo piano.
